Similarly to the Southern Living at HOME Jamestown Tray Re-do, I also updated the Gail Pittman Allegria Wall Tiles from Southern Living at HOME also within minutes with one new color added.
These wall tiles worked well in the entry way of our former home (747) but just didn’t quite work in our new home (642.) I simply added a soft turquoise in the places on the tile where the olive green had been. Gail Pittman painted the originals tiles and then these were mass produced for Southern Living at HOME. The brush strokes of the tile are bold and loose so adding didn’t require much skill just a bit of quick confidence. I say “quick” because if I was slower and more precise about the painting it would look less natural and probably a little wobbly. I say confidently because to be quick in painting takes a bit of that.
Here is a close up of how it turned out.
See why I used the turquoise to match my Ikea drapes?
When this wall comes out and gets replaced with French doors next month, I’ll have fun finding a new and hopefully unusual spot to hang them.
Seriously, a 20 minute re-do with only one brush to wash out too. I hope this inspires you to make a fresh quick change somewhere that will impact your home.
